Alex Kennedy and Simone Barraco riding some amazing spots in Israel with filmaker Richard Forne for Nike. This edit has got some really great riding from both AK and Simone. Simone is one of my favorite riders right now, this guy just has style for days, and word is he has a new frame coming out from Subrosa soon.

Saturday Bordem Cure: OSS and MARKIT Park Edits
Frist up we’ve got the newest OSS edit, one thing I have to say is these guys look like they are always having a good time. It’s just a bunch of friends doing what they love. Oh and the LizardKing makes an appearance for the intro.
Here we have the MARKIT team and friends tearing up some cement parks in both Texas and California. Keep an eye out for Chad Kerley, Chase Hawk, and Rob Wise. And that last huge gap 3, wow….just wow.

New Prints in the Store
This is a little design I’ve put together during my abundant free time since I’ve been unemployed/free lancing. After reading the comments sections on both Prolly is Not Probably and The Come Up for years now, I’ve found this to be more and more true. People will rip on just about anything these days for just about any reason with the anonymity of the interwebz. Anyhow, I will be getting these done at one of the local print shops here in Eugene soon. They will be 11″ x 17 ” and I’ll have them for sale in the online store or you can hit me up if you are local want one.

Not sure how I missed this one
Damiera are an epic prog-rock power trio originally from Buffalo, NY. They have since disbanded but they two albums they released M(US)IC and Quite Mouth Loud Hands, are both spastic jaunts mixed with distorted guitars, poppier choruses, and shifting time signatures that still hold their roots firmly in rock and roll. If you haven’t heard of these guys and you’re into At the Drive in, Minus the Bear, or the like. I would suggest checking these guys out.

Mistaken Identity Anchor Tank Promo
The guys from Mistaken Identity throw down on a session at a local park to promote the new tank release. There are some killer tricks in here. Truck drive at the end caught me by surprise.

Odyssey Brake Cable Guide
Great little info-graphic from Odyssey giving us the low down on their full line of brake cables. Not sure how this is super relevant since most you cats run brakeless or ride fixed these days, but the design was just to on point for me not to post it.

What I Use:
This post was inspired by Lifehacker‘s series “What We Use” detailing what their editors use and carry in their day to day life. I though it might be interesting to give you an idea of what keeps ekajnitram.com running as well as give you a look at some of my favorite stuff that I use everyday.
Computers and Hardware:
White Polycarbonate Macbook: Docked to a 23″ LG LCD Monitor, 1.5 TB WD hard drive, 7 port hub, a pair of small studio monitors, Mac full size keyboard, Wacom tablet, Pro-Tools Mbox Mini and Cannon printer. Oh and my favorite mouse, the Apple Magic Mouse, I love this thing and the multitouch gestures alone make it worth the buy. I bought this Macbook right as they were releasing the first generation of the Aluminum Macbooks, for some reason this one had better specs than it’s aluminum brothers, so It made more sense to pay a couple hundred less for better components. This Macbook has served me well for the last 4 years. It survived my first design degree and with a few upgrades should survive the next one as well. This is my main rig for all my design work and everything that you see here on the site.
HP Mini 9 netbook: This guy is my travel, quick IT problem solver computer. I’ve wiped any trace of windows, and installed the newest build of Ubuntu. I swear this thing is twice as fast without Windows on it. This one doesn’t get much use unless I’m going out of town, or want watch something on the TV downstairs.
What I carry almost everywhere I go:
iPhone 4: I’m a Mac nerd so this one is kinda obvious, but I like my iPhone and so far Android hasn’t really given me anything awesome I’d want to jump ship for. Plus the syncing between my phone and Macbook make life pretty easy. I’m still using the 4 because I’m on the 2 year upgrade cycle, and rather than just buying a 4S I just plan to wait until the next iPhone drops.
Mission Workshop Fitzroy Rucksack: This is hands down, the best pack I’ve ever owned. Plenty of space for anything I’ll ever need to carry, from beer runs to daily errands this bag has the job more than handled. The craftsmanship Mission Workshop puts into their bags is astounding. It’s got more than enough pockets for all of my gadgets, pens, and tools. It’s also got a water proof pocket that will fit up to a 15″ laptop.
Grid-it Organizer: I use this guy constantly, one of the best things I’ve found for keeping all of the random small stuff from floating around in your bag. This is almost always stashed in a pocket of my rucksack, I’ve got all kinds of stuff on mine, usb/iphone cables, a pair of earbuds, pen and markers, a couple of USB flash drives, my HD Flip Cam, and occasionally an old iPod used as a small harddrive or my USB external drive.
Medium sized Moleskin Notebook: Great to have when I need to actually write something down, or sketch out ideas. I use it as a folder more often than not to keep documents I don’t want to lose.
Random Tools: I almost always carry a small Maglite, a Kershaw knife, a Topeak bike tool and a spare tube (I know a lot of guys carry patch kits, but to be honest I just don’t trust them). It’s never a bad idea to be prepared.
Applications OSX and IPhone:
Google Chrome:(OSX) I was a long time Firefox user, but Chrome is just faster, more stable, and looks cleaner. The combined address and search bar makes this browser super minimal. I have really been enjoying the Chrome Sync feature, which keeps all of my settings, extensions, bookmarks in sync across my computers.
Drop Box: (both) If you’re not using this yet, you should even the free account is worth it. The Drop Box team are always releasing new ways for you to get more free space. It’s great for collaborating or sharing a file that is just to big to email. I probably use this both on my phone or my computer at least once a day.
Sparrow: (OSX) This is the mail client that finally was able to get me to stop using the browser based gmail interface. I couldn’t stand Mail that is built into OSX, and for ten bucks it’s a steal. This is the best mail app I’ve ever used. I just notieced they have released a version for the iPhone, but it doesn’t feature push notifications.
GMail: (iPhone) By far the best email app I’ve found for the iPhone, obviously you need to be a gmail user for this app to even be relevant to you. But It’s far superior to the stock mail app on the iPhone.
Adobe CS5: (OSX) well……duh….
